Terms of use

These terms are an agreement between you and Field Lab Solutions LLC, a Texas limited liability company, covering your use of Milespand. Throughout, "we" and "us" mean Field Lab Solutions LLC, and "the service" means the Milespand website and app.

By creating an account you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.

1. Who can use it

You must be at least 18 years old. You must give a real email address you can receive mail at, because that is how we confirm your account and how you recover it if you forget your password.

2. Your account

You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your password to yourself. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has got into it. One person, one account. Do not share an account with someone whose records you would not want to see.

3. Your records belong to you

Everything you enter stays yours. We do not claim ownership of your vehicle details, mileage, service history, photos or notes. You give us only the permission needed to store that material and show it back to you, which is what running the service requires. You can export it or delete it whenever you like.

4. What you may not do

  • Break the law with it, or use it to help someone else break the law.
  • Upload anything you do not have the right to upload.
  • Try to reach another person's account or records.
  • Scrape, hammer or overload the service, or try to break its security.
  • Resell access, or run it as a paid service of your own.

We may suspend or close an account that does any of this, and we may do so without notice where the conduct is serious.

5. The service is free, and it is provided as is

Milespand costs nothing to use. It is offered as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. We do not promise the service will be uninterrupted, that it will be free of errors, or that it will always be available.

6. Maintenance information is a reminder, not advice

This is the important one, so read it.

The intervals and due dates the service shows you are estimates. They are based on general guidance and on whatever you have entered, and they can be wrong. They are not a substitute for your vehicle's owner's manual, the manufacturer's maintenance schedule, or the judgment of a qualified mechanic. Where the service disagrees with your manufacturer, follow your manufacturer.

You are responsible for maintaining your own vehicle. We are not liable for mechanical damage, breakdown, injury, voided warranty or any other loss arising from maintenance you did or did not perform, whether or not the service reminded you.

Reminders may not arrive. Email fails, phones change, notifications get switched off, and servers go down. Do not rely on this service as your only way of knowing that work is due.

7. Affiliate links and donations

Field Lab Solutions LLC is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Some links on this site are affiliate links, and we may receive a commission if you buy through them at no extra cost to you.

We do not sell parts and we are not party to anything you buy from a retailer. Products linked from here are not endorsed, warranted or supported by us, and any problem with an order is between you and the seller.

Donations made through Buy Me a Coffee are voluntary, are not payment for the service, and are not refundable by us. They buy you nothing you would not otherwise have.

8. Losing your data

We take reasonable care, but keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose. Use the export feature. We are not liable for records lost through failure, error or your own deletion.

9. Limit of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Field Lab Solutions LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data or lost vehicle value, arising out of your use of the service. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you is limited to one hundred United States dollars.

Some states do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

10. Ending it

You can delete your account at any time from your account settings. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, and we may discontinue the service entirely. If we shut it down we will give reasonable notice and a chance to export your records where we can.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed, and significant changes will be announced in the app or by email. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Texas, and you agree to those courts hearing it.

13. The rest

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still stands. Our not enforcing something is not a waiver of the right to enforce it later. These terms, together with the privacy policy, are the whole agreement between us.
